How To Win Search Rank vs AI

So how does Google rank webpages that are generated by AI? How does Google know your content is authentic, and not created by an AI robot?

The answer is: Google has difficulty figuring it out.

Its early-days on this topic. Its not even a stand-alone topic. Its surfaces in Google’s Core Updates. But these updates are written in cat&mouse language meant to cloak how Google really works. It takes time until the search community decodes what important issues are hidden there. One that is emerging as I type is ranking webpages that may be generated by AI. So how does Google go about it?

Look for a shortest route out of this house of mirrors.

How does Google know that human identity is real? And is that human an expert on the topic (of the content/website)?

It a rather difficult problem to solve even for Goolge, because AI is evolving so fast that its estimated that the best AI models now have an IQ of 150. That’s genius level. Elon Musk is said to have an IQ of 155 and Albert Einstein was 160. AI evolution is logarithmic. That means it become 10x smarter every cycle. Estimates put the AI IQ at 1500 in a few short years. That’s beyond human comprehension, and some insiders are beginning to call it alien intelligence.

The question is therefore: how can Google’s algorithms (which are AI) keep up with other AIs that are generating content at genius and beyond levels? Google’s Core Update release suggests that it cannot.

So A strategy may be to find a short-cut. Google could just require a passport-linked identity on every webpage to authenticate that the content was written by a real person and that real person knows what they are talking about.

So what to do?

You could ignore that this is even a thing and hope that it passes by like many other search rank things do.

But I recommend that you own it. Make sure each post/page has an “about us” link in it just for Google to process. How you do that is up to your creativity because there is not yet a “how to” on this topic yet. Include a profile pic on the page with a link to a separate page (about us) that proves you are an “expert” on you topic.

Just make sure your About Us page says something real 😉 most don’t. Bonus hint!
